Good morning all! We’re doing a quick retrospective on the last D-os release entitled, “French Fries Vol. Pi.”
The duo known as D-os, Mr. Tos aka Jesus Crise and Days, follow-up their previous servings of “French Fries Vols. 1 and 3” with another starchy, delicious puree of innovative beats and crafty lyrics. Potatoes have been a continuous source of inspiration for D-os since Chez Free et Legal helped them introduce “Looking for Mr. Potato” in 2021.
FF Vol Pi is a smoothed-out travel from kitchen to table to buffet, and finally, to degustation. No doubt Mr. Tos is capable of adding a previously untapped and unique spice to each tasty morsel that he cooks up. (Visit jesuscrise.bandcamp.com and be stunned by the sheer amount of delicious offerings!)
He is a real-life chef, besides possessing an extraordinary set of musical tools that allows his natural-born skill as a producer and dj to fully blossom in the course of your meal. With an eclectic, but extremely beat-centric ear, Mr. Tos brings the sounds together beautifully. Always challenging your thoughts on rhythm and poly-rhythm, he has layered together dishes(tracks) that really capture the best characteristics of whichever ingredients lie, waiting patiently and eagerly, in that serving’s recipe to be discovered by audio food lovers worldwide!
Days is the sous-chef in charge of lyrics. His themes run the gamut of everyday life, subtly embedding jewels of common sense within layers of rhymes. A veteran in his craft, as is Mr. Tos, Days‘ no nonsense approach to each song sets his messages snuggly next to the beat. The aroma is both extravagant and as rich as any four star Michelin establishment. Satisfaction guaranteed; no fast-food here!
Take a taste and give us your feedback, although we are sure you will enjoy and be healed from the inside out. Bon appetit.
